Description
The Sales Director is responsible for achieving commodity & product sales targets across targeted markets. This senior sales position reports to the Chief Sales Officer and will be based in our Houston, Texas Headquarters. EMEX, LLC ("EMEX") is a national leader in energy procurement and reverse auction technology. EMEX transacts annually in hundreds of millions of dollars of electricity and natural gas products for business and government entities, making it one of the largest privately held energy consulting and risk management firms in North America.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- 5 to 7 years of sales experience
- Fundamental knowledge of deregulated electricity and natural gas markets
- Proven track record of developing, building upon and managing a strong customer base
- Demonstrated ability to condense technical, energy related information in a straightforward, concise manner
- Ability to meet or exceed sales expectations on a monthly basis
- Demonstrated network of target market relationships and contacts
- Proficient with current technology and Microsoft Office.
- Must have excellent time management skills
- Minimal overnight travel

Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Drive sales by communicating the value of EMEX’s energy risk management services as well as positioning our reverse auction platform as a competitive advantage
- Develop client-tailored sales strategy and pricing options, as well as administration of customer-specific contractual requirements
- Achieve assigned sales quota in designated Sales Partner accounts as well as direct sales accounts
- Research and identify business account prospects; close sales through a variety of techniques (cold call, email, or arranged meetings)
- Analyze prospects’ energy needs, energy purchasing decisions, and obtain necessary information (account data, permission, and any contractual obligations) to present account proposals with the objective of closing agreements in a highly professional and proficient manner
- Explain the differentiation of our value proposition against traditional brokers/consultants
- Maintain accounts and cultivate long-term and positive relationships blending sales expertise with excellent service and support to all prospects and existing customers

- Consultative approach to building long-term client relationships
- Mission/goal driven with high integrity and professionalism
- Resilient to rejection- the ability to overcome objections/obstacles and re-frame conversations
- Solid organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
