POSITION: Senior Energy Analyst, Energy Supply Chain

Opportunity Snapshot

Reporting to the Director, Supply Chain & Procurement, the position will provide support for all of the energy supply needs for our Client’s portfolio of data centers. The position will have direct responsibility for energy analytics and reporting third party procurement as well as regulated tariffs for North America, while providing support and information to align with global energy initiatives.   The Senior Analyst, Energy Supply Chain will support the company’s effort to develop and execute best-in-class strategies to reduce the cost of energy supply.

The Requirements
•        3-5 years of experience in energy services analysis, energy procurement, tariff review, and/or invoice auditing.
•        Successful track record in analyzing and understanding energy in U.S. regulated and deregulated markets. Experience with utility rates, fixed contracts, and block/index products.
•        A thorough understanding of deregulated energy and utility tariffs is required.
•        Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, business, or supply chain.   
•        Outstanding data analysis skills, and the ability to effectively communicate the results of analysis to executive level management.
•        Proficiency with energy software programs and reporting tools, Microsoft excel, PowerPoint, etc.

The Role

•        Work with reporting platform to develop and enhance internal reporting of energy across our Client’s Global Footprint.
•        Provide support to leadership on all energy related initiatives. Help increase stakeholder engagement in energy procurement initiatives.
•        The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and tracking forward energy markets, in addition to key regulatory items.
•        Daily/weekly market price updates and tracking results.
•        Understanding of key factors that affect pricing and effectively tracking such costs.
•        Provide appropriate information and back-up to support risk management strategies in key U.S. markets.
•        Develop and manage critical supplier and utility relationships, increasing value throughout the supply chain.
•        Monitor, analyze and report key performance metrics.
•        Ability to provide ad-hoc research on specific markets and understanding of rate/tariff differences within and across those markets.
•        Provide support and analysis to Portfolio Management and Operations on energy related initiatives or opportunities.
•        Schedule and prepare agenda for weekly energy meetings.
•        Develop understanding of the process for documentation and scheduling of future RFP’s.
•        Analyze electricity market trends and communicate appropriate strategies.
•        Be a key team member in developing and executing the Supply Chain & Procurement strategic plan.
